Paleokastritsa – Corfu (25 kilometres from the city of Corfu)
It is situated on the shores of northwest Corfu next to the known and celebrated resort of the same name. It has organised beaches with shingle and sand and turquoise waters. Their feature is the deep and cool sea.
Beach of Glifada – Corfu (17 kilometres from the city of Corfu)
It lies on the shores of southwest Corfu and has been awarded a blue flag. It is covered with sand and is one of the most cosmopolitan and popular beaches on the island.
Ermones Beach in Middle Corfu (15 kilometres from the city of Corfu)
A beautiful closed bay on the west shores of Corfu, surrounded by green and steep hills. It is an organised beach with fine sand, shingle, and crystal-clear waters.
Beach of Aghios Gordios (15 kilometres from the city of Corfu)
Situated on the west shores of Corfu, it is among the most popular beaches on the island. It is an organised beach with shallow waters ideal for swimming, fine sand, and a green natural environment.
Beach ‘The Channel of Love’ (25 kilometres from the city of Corfu)
Next to the beach at Sidari, you will meet a beach called ‘the Channel of Love’ or ‘Canal D’Amour’. It has been given this name because tradition has it that whoever swims in the crossing will meet the love of his/her life on the other side. It is a rare natural phenomenon that creates a superb beach with white rocks and crystal-clear waters.
You can also swim in the Beach of Mirtiotisa, as well as in Kasiopi, Kondokali, Galiskari, Mesongi, Arahavi, Chalikouna

Corfu (Kerkyra) can boast many and important points worth visiting because of both their unique beauty and location and their significance. Some of them are the following:
City - CORFU
Undoubtedly, the landmark of Corfu is Liston. Large arcades with magnificent arches that house cafés and restaurants at the west side of Spianada Square.
Spianada Square, opposite the Old Fortress, is one of the largest and most beautiful squares in Greece.
The Palace of Sts. Michael and George, at the north side of Spianada Square, is among the first neoclassical buildings in Greece. It currently houses the Museum of Asian Art and the Municipal Library and hosts various cultural events & exhibitions.
The Old Fortress of Corfu is also one of the most famous sights on the island. The view from it is unique as you can enjoy a panoramic view of all the old city of Corfu (Kerkyra).
The New Fortress or Fortress of St Mark is the second important fort in the city and is considered one of the architectural masterpieces of Corfu (Kerkyra).
It is also worth visiting the Reading Society of Corfu with its rare collection of paintings, icons andvaluable documents, the Town Hall of Corfu built during the Venetian rule, and of course the Church of St Spyridon in the city of Corfu (Kerkyra), one of the most important post-Byzantine monuments in the city. The roof and the wall paintings of the church are unique. The relics of St Spyridon, the Keeper of Corfu (Kerkyra), are kept in the church.
Kanoni – Corfu
One of the best-known sights in Corfu (Kerkyra). Kanoni offers a stunning view of the islet with the Vlaherna Monastery to which it is connected with a narrow strip of elevated ground. In the background is the imposing famous verdant rock Pontikonisi with the Monastery of Pantokrator.
Panagia of Vlaherna & Pontikonisi – Corfu
They are the 2 most famous sights in Corfu (Kerkyra) and the island’s landmarks. The caïques (boats) that go to the legendary Pontikonisi set off from Panagia of Vlaherna, a Byzantine church on an islet. Pontikonisi, which is a natural monument, is a verdant and tree-planted rock dominated by the Monastery of Pantokrator.
Achilleion – Corfu
Achilleion is in Gastouri. It was built in late 19th century by the Queen of the Austro-Hungarian Empire Elisabeth, known as Sissi.
Achilleion is a magnificent and imposing building. Outside it, you will see a host of statues of figures from the Greek mythology, wonderful gardens, a bronze statue about 8 metres high that depicts the wounded Homeric hero Achilles trying to pull an arrow out of his heel, and other important works. Its inside is filled with wall paintings by famous artists, a celebrated oil painting portraying the triumph of Achilles, a fresco showing the four seasons of the year, and other important works.
Mon Repos – Corfu
Lush vegetation and superb gardens characterise the estate of Mon Repos where the English High Commissioner of the Ionian Islands Frederick Adam built his summer mansion in 1831 for the sake of his beloved Corfiot wife. This impressive palace overlooking the blue waters of the Ionian Sea is really unique. Currently, the palace of Mon Repos houses the Museum of Palaiopolis.
The Corfiot museums, such as the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Asian Art, the Museum of Banknotes, the Olive Oil Museum, the Museum of Kapodistrias and others, are also important.
